My sister let me read her Mud Flower Blooming copy, I will buy my own – but had to say something to the author J.. Here is my take on things; I thoroughly enjoyed how you creatively brought these story lines together. I knew that Patrick would be the one who would take Jewelle to that special place in womanhood she needed to reach. I found their relationship to be more spiritual of a connection but her the seeming pull with Kojo troubled me a bit, because I feel like there was something more there too. Im no writer by any means but I know a developing story when I see one. I surely will be looking forward and hoping for another book.

Ive been a therapist for 28 years and to my surprise this is the first novel I’ve ever encountered where I believe it will have useful application in my sessions. I am thinking of recommending the reading of your book to my patients. Congratulations

I'm an attorney with an organization outside of Hartford, CT that works with lgbtq organizations to raise awareness about mental illness and HIV. I saw your book at my mother in law’s house over the holidays and started reading after dinner. She allowed me to take it home. I just finished Mud flower Bloom ing and want to know that you are by far now my favorite author. I love Dr Angelou and Pastor Rick Warren were my favorites but you have risen to the top of my list. Cant wait to see what comes next from you, please add me as a subscriber to your email list so I can be signaled with updates. Thank you Paul K

My name is Achak Ahusaka, I am Comanche, I am in the throws of examining your book and find it to be a read that far transcends the time in which we live. As my family/ tribe grow I want to find things that would help us to unite and cultivate the type of life we want. Ive found your book to be something that I want to shar with them all. I am equally impressed with your depiction of those of Native American descent. If I could offer one piece of advice to you, I would tell you to never stop writing and to explore your gift of telling stories more. I purchased my book on Amazon and will be purchasing more when Im able.
I hope reading this helps someone find their voice and power. Something happened for me while reading this. I am impressed more so of the author’s knowledge of native American people.

I can’t help but to laugh at the disagreement between Jewelle and her daughter. It reminded me of my daughter and I. Jewelle should wooped her ass to drive her point home , Im from the old school of thought on that one. Nice book I will recommend it to my friends.

Mud Flower Blooming" is a lighthearted self-help book for seniors and soon-to-be older folks that encourages reflection, evaluation, and transformation. Although it helps to change the perspective about getting older, it burst with just what a life on pause facing mortality needs. I felt alive reading this and took a much needed seat at the mirror of my own life to reflect. I too am a mother of 5 and will be retiring from Stanford University this Summer. I have said to my children that this book was an eye opening refresher for me. After my divorce I didn’t have the desire to marry again thought I was lonely the more I recognized just how aging was settling in my life. I have found joy in living my life the way that I want to live and doing the things that keep my soul moving forward. J. Martin-Thomas you are a real gem, your book nuzzled on my heart and brought memories and new experiences to my life as I dared to open up to explore my life. Thank you

Im submitting on March 8 2020. Verna M. I like your book a lot and would like this comment to be added to your list of reviews: This was beautifully written in such a way that caused me to reflect on ways that I could change my life and how I viewed who I am at this stage. Thank you for writing a book that is not only relatable but captures the essence of truth and wisdom at its core. I will remember the lessons Ive learned from reading this.

A revealing personal story and family sketching told through stories and anecdotes.

Through complex characters and bewitching prose, J. offers a stirring portrait of the power conferred between the venerable woman and her relationship with herself and those involved in her process. This powerful tale of moral ambiguity amid inarguable personal pullulation is one for Legacy, it is one for the books.

J. Martin – Thomas is an inspired voice primed for this climate. You had me at the prologue and I couldn’t put the book down. There are part s of this book that I find myself folding into conversations with my women’s ministry. An exceptional work of art!

Beautifully written, but heart wrenching saga of a woman embarking on a journey that travels through the life lines of several generations and ancestral energies. The story touches on the enduring hope and resiliency of family and friends. Full of purpose and written well

The inspiring, instructive, and ultimately triumphant work from J Martin Thomas!
I have a question. Does Jewelle ever get what she truly wants? I’m in the process of reading Mud Flower Blooming but the suspense is killing me. My best friend has the book but won’t tell me what happens. Lol
